Welcome inkpoppers, to the WWC Hub!
After lots of time, effort, and support, the Weekly Writer's Challenge is finally becoming a reality! I want to first, thank everyone who showed an interest in this from the start, and were patient enough to wait for me to get my bearings with this. I hope what I have created lives up to the hype.
At its core, WWC is meant to be a tool for all writers at any level. Use these challenges as a way to release your creative juices, tap into a more competitive side, and hone your skills as a writer. And don’t forget to have fun!
Use this thread as a place where all participants and prospective participants can get together. Feel free to chit chat, throw out suggestions, toss ideas around and get to know each other! Here in the Hub I want everyone to feel welcome, so if you see someone new strike up a conversation! It's always fun to get inspiration from your peers and see what they are coming up with as well.
I will do my best to keep everyone updated and in the know about what is happening with WWC. Right now WWC is in a version 1.0 phase; so changes may be made to make things go smoother in the future. There is always room for improvement right? If you have any questions, comments or complaints feel free to talk about them here and message me.
To kick off, I will be detailing WWC guidelines, what the judges will be looking at in the entries, and how to submit entries.
WWC GUIDELINES/RULES (Please understand that whilst I know every inkpopper is respectful and very sensible, I still felt the need to lay down some ground rules):
1. Treat participants and their entries with respect. Your misbehavior will disqualify you.
2. You may not use material that you have already published here on InkPop
3. You may not have explicit sex in your entries. So R rated and above is a no go.
4. Late entries will not be accepted unless I am notified an hour prior to the deadline.
5. Whatever the judges decide is final, please respect their decision.
6. WWC participants are only allowed ONE entry per challenge.
WWC ENTRY RUBRIC (What the judges will be looking for):
1. Good grammar; the number of grammatical errors will be counted.
2. Good spelling; the number of spelling errors will be counted.
3. Creativity; originality and how you use the challenge prompt.
4. Sentence flow, structure, vocabulary; the basic mechanics of writing.
HOW TO SUBMIT A WWC ENTRY:
1. Write up your entry.
2. Follow the 5 step Inkpop submission process.
3. When you title your entry put WWC WK# in front of your original title.
4. In the tagging section tag WWC and WK#.
5. Submit your entry.
6. Post the link to your entry on the corresponding challenge thread.
EXTRA INFORMATION:
1. Each week a new thread will be made for that specific challenge. (Week one will have its own thread, week two will have its own thread, and so on and so forth.)
2. Each week there will be a new Challenge Champion.
3. The Challenge Champion’s profile and winning entry will be featured in the WWC Hub and also in the corresponding challenge thread.
4. Alongside the Challenge Champion there will be two honorable mentions.
5. Judges can still submit an entry but they are excluded from Champion consideration.
6. Challenges will vary in both topic and requirements week to week.
7. To be a judge all you have to do is message me before the next challenge is posted.
8. Participants have from Sunday to Friday/12AM Saturday. (No entries will be accepted after Friday)
So, to everyone reading this, I have just one question: ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE???
If you think you are, then PROVE IT!!!
