about the book "dreamscape - the gatekeeper chronicles" -

first off... this is book is dedicated to my older brother leon. we always had the dream that one day we'd fulfill our goals come hell or high water. i'd become the published author, he'd become the rock star. he always did love to sing and he was really good at it, but he passed away from suicide on mar 3rd of 2002. it broke my heart and left a void i'm still learning to cope with as each day goes by. i wrote this book to deal with that emptiness, anger, hurt, and confusion, but also to remember the feelings and the memories of the people i never wanted to let go of from the beginning. since the year 2000, i've lost more then 10 ppl that i can think of... i've tried to put it all out of my mind and memory at times... but writing has really helped me to cope and deal with the pain of loss... and finally i can smile again.
dreamscape is a book i’ve been working on for a little over 2 years now (well consistently anyways. the 1st chapter was written when i was in high school.) it's the 1st book of what i plan to become a trilogy. the story originated from a dream i had a few years ago described in chapter 1 "midnight calling” and it kinda ran from there. i used keira to vent my emotions and thoughts, and rozlend (keira's brother) is kind of a representation with my brother leon (except we didn't fight like the characters in the book do lol!) a lot of the other character's personalities in the book are based off of my real family, and some of the names are real. ermina is my grandmother's name and wilburn is my grandfather's. this was just a way for me to hold on to a little pieces of my life that felt were slipping away so many years ago.
i have to warn you there's a bunch of grammar errors, but i've never had any formal training, i just really love to write. with that being said i hope you enjoy the book. it's still a work in progress, but it's getting there...slowly. lol! =)
