I just wanted to send out a quick note. I finished the first draft of Before You and it's up on inkpop! Ahh! I'll be taking down the last chapters of Before You on October 7th, so if you were planning to read the entirety of Before You, you'll want to finish it before then. Heyy! Thanks for keeping Quant3m in your picks. :D. That means a LOT. Anyway, I was just letting you know that chapters 10 and 11 are now up, and that 12 should be up tomorrow. The delay was so long because I was on vacation, but, now that I'm back, chapters should be going up almost every other day and we'll get to chapter twenty (the end of the book!) in no time at all. no worries.i love this type of message. it's what we as a community of writers should be doing...helping each other.to be honest i don't have a target maybe i should but i literally (funny) just write. i don't look at how long it is, as long as it makes sense it can be 2 pages or 20. i'm not sure if that helps but i wouldn't try to stretch out chapters. it be like watching a 4 hour movie when you thought it was going to be 2 hours. you sit through it but you wouldn't want to experience it twice.lold;

So sorry for not getting back to your question earlier since I haven't been on. Well, for Summer of Firsts, I purposely made each chapter around 2500 words b/c I wanted the structure. Each chapter is about 10 double spaced Word Document pages. So I would have a total of 25 chapters (1 chapter is actually only one word) to equal 60,000+ words. My goal had been to get past 60,000 words.
Hi, fudgeface! If you like paranormal reads, I highly suggest reading Paradox by Seattlelover7, and considering it for your picks. It needs more publicity! Of course, this is only a suggestion, and really only for when you have nothing else to read, because lots of people on this site are busy, but anyways...It is very good, in my opinion. :)---izzy---I love your picture, by the way!

Wow, thank you so much!! Your comment is just so flattering and really makes me feel so good. Yes, I do update my readers when I post more chapters, and I hope to be added a few more before I stop. Right now I've written almost half of chap 16.Your comment was so great, and I'll definitely be cherrying it. Hey everyone! I know I haven't updated it in a few days, but I just added a couple of sections onto The Man In The White. For those of you who were involved in the naming, you get to see which was chosen. For everyone else, well, you get to meet a new character, plus learn some backstory on one of the two villians :)~EggieP.S. You will also see the extent of the man in the white's heartlessness. Look out for the phrase "dog boy."
My chapters vary from about 1800 to 4500 words, but average around 3000. I know some writers do one page chapters (about 350 words), so it doesn't matter. I think if you aim to either have a complete scene OR end on a cliff-hanger, the number of words won't matter much.
Hey there Haley. :) Okay, so I can see that a few people have already told you the length of their chapters. Sorry for responding so late. You probably don't need it now, but I shall tell you anyway. My chapters are between 1,500 - 3,000. Yes, it vaires. It just depends on how much I have to say. Every writer is different. Some only have 1,000 word chapters, which is totally fine. Again, just depends on how much you have to say. But, remember 50,000 and over - as I recall- makes it a novel. So if you averge on 2,500 words on each chapter you'll have a novel within' twenty chapters. (Now, that I look down I see Evie's already informed you of this...) Well, hope I did something. :) At least you're not rocking in the dark any longer. ;) Good luck writing!! Oh, and if you ever post the novel you're working on here feel free to message me!
