about me

*what i'm up to* chapter 2 of "the other juliet" has been updated!

i'm a time traveler.

ello! i'm drucilla a. summers, which is my pen name. you can call me dru.

i'm a historical fiction writer. i decided that this was my destiny a few months ago when i realized i couldn't write anything but hf. luckily, i love history, so pulling it into my writing makes me smile.

my writing is style is unique, i like to think. i have a dark-side that i'm a little too close to. i like detail and i tend to channel my character's thoughts through my description. the victorian era fascinates me and don't even get me started on asylums. in the end, i see the world through magically dark eyes.

yes, i do have a horse! how did you know? she is my life! i don't know what i would do without her. for anyone who is wondering, she is a arabian and she is 7 years old. we hope to be eventers one day, but we still have a lot of practicing to do. i can ride in saddle and bareback. i can also ride my horse without a bit. we, to put it simply, rock!

thank you for visiting my page and taking time to actually read it. if you're wondering, i do swap, but i have to be interested in your book. i give honest comments. they aren't 500 words long, i'm not at that level yet, but i never post one-liners. even for poetry. i also have good and bad in my comments.

please read "the other juliet". i think it is pretty amazing, but i might be biased.

i love doctor who! any fans out there?

um, oh! i like the color purple. :)

Poem

When it is time to part, sometimes good-bye is useless.

A poem I wrote a few months ago. Sometimes saying good-bye is not needed when both know that they were never meant to be.

Poem

Why must so many people die to bring a world together?

Why does life throw one disaster after another at us? Is this the only way to bring a world together? Why must so many people die for us to become one? Explain this to me.

This poem was inspired by the disaster that occurred in Haiti. Let's keep Haiti and its people in our thoughts. Let's do what we can to help.

Book: Historical Fiction, Romance

Meet the girl behind the tradgedy.

Everyone knows the story of Romeo and Juliet: boy meets girl, they fall in love, they are never meant to be, they die. It was written by the greatest writer of all time, William Shakespeare. Everyone knows the beloved characters and their famous lines. But, there is one character often overlooked. Her name is Rosaline Capulet. She was Romeo's first love and she never spoke a word in the famous play. Now, it is her turn to speak. Follow her through the timeless tale of Romeo and Juliet and see the chaos of Verona through her dark eyes. She has a story to tell, and she is ready to tell it. It is time for you to discover the girl behind the tragedy.

*NOTE* Any piece of dialogue marked with a * means those words are from the original text of Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare. I do not own those words, I am just borrowing them.
