***i will not respond to read requests. i will however, respond to read swaps. if you ask for a read swap, though, please be aware of certain things:
1. i will always leave a comment/critique if you ask it.
2. i will not always get to your stories at the time you ask for a swap. please remember this! but i promise you, i will get to your story as soon as i can.
3. please be honest, and don't be afraid of harshe critique. i'm a big girl, i can take it. i'll be honest in return.
thank you for reading :]***

well, enough of that. my name's portia and i'm 16 years old. here's a list about me:
1. my favorite hobbies include walking, breathing, drawing, writing, listening to/playing music, and reading.
2. i won't deny the fact that i am indeed a total book whore. i read entire 4-inch-thick books in only a few mere hours.
3. writing is my passion, and i hope to one day become a famous author.
4. i completed my first official story in eighth grade, and it is still the proudest moment in my life.
5. my bestest friend in the whole wide world is paige. she's like a sister to me and is always going on about power rangers and pokemon. she really is the greatest, and i love her to death.
6. i am a very happy person. i'm currently trying to work on being selfless, not judging people, and being very accepting. it's a hard change, but the support people have given me is outstanding, and my role model is even better.
7. i love anime/manga.
8. the color green! 'nuf said.
9. i go anywhere i can without shoes. that's not to say shoes aren't absolutely amazing, however.
10. i can be pretty weird, and i'm not afraid to admit it.
11. starbucks = my life source.
12. simple things amuse me.
13. vintage items are probably the best ever.
14. i'm a hopeless romantic.
15. no, i don't like romeo & juliet. if you ask me, they got everything they deserved. obviously, they could have simply just up and run away. they didn't have to go and make everything so complex.
16. i love hats.
17. i am dying for an awesome camera -- the ones that the pros use
18. if i could go vegan, i totally would -- sadly, i'm addicted to certain meats ;a;
19. i love to talk to people, so don't be afraid to message me just to say hi! i'm very friendly, so don't worry. i don't bite.
20. i love nature: i'm not a big fan of mud or bugs, but most anything else is like a little gift. especially anything i can climb.
21. i wish i could speak german!
22. i really want to get 6 tattoos and 2 piercings.
23. i love to laugh!
24. my life is pretty average.
25. that fact that you possibly read all this makes me very happy.

last note: though i am not good at reading poetry and really feeling it, there is a writer whose poetry and writing is absolutely beautiful: go to http://www.bluemeadow193.deviantart.com/. this guy is excellent in writing. so please, i beg that you check his stuff out :)

The Void: Part 1

by Night of the ExorMist

Book: General Fiction, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Romance

Void - noun; an empty space, a vacancy. Is it possible that it just might have a different meaning?

A story that includes romance and the supernatural world mostly revolves around Carshe, and how his life is suddenly spiraling out of control when he realizes he is part of a secret organization that feeds on human souls to survive. And what's worse is that they are plotting to rid the world of the human race. But, being one of simple logic, Carshe doesn't quite agree with this secret organization. The main reason is because he's head-over-heels in love with Olette, a human girl. But Olette is a little...weird. She has a tattoo-one she's had since birth- and can predict the future. Is she really human? Or could she be a part of something bigger, bigger than even the organization?

*Author's Note: Please excuse the any grammatical errors, as I type so quickly, my mind doesn't realize I've made a mistake ^^;
Also, there is indeed a sequel, so keep an eye out for it!

The Used

by Night of the ExorMist

Book: General Fiction, Romance

Chaos + Order = I don't think so.

Lauren lives a not-so-average life; but that isn't a good thing. Her parents left when she was young, leaving her to care for her younger brother, she doesn't have much of a social life since 'the incidents', and she spends most of her time in her room. When her best friend calls her up to tell her they lost a band member, he invites her to join the band - the same band that includes her ex-boyfriend's lackey, the person she hates almost as much as her ex. After sticking to a short, harsh set of rules that have kept her life in peaceful order, will she really be willing to just let go and let it all out by joining this band, the same band with a person she despises more than almost anyone else?
[If there are any mistakes, please point them out to me. Also, I have not finished posting the rest of the chapters, but this story is indeed finished. There is a sequel to this that I will be posting in due time. Thank you.]

The Mundane Life of Murray McC...

by Night of the ExorMist

Short Story: Adventure, Humor, Romance, Memoir/Autobiography

Murray McCorkle's about to dominate her world, one awkward step at a time.

Just tell me what you think of the beginning, if it connects with you, or doesn't, if you think it needs improvement or not. This will be turned into a book.
