about me

i'm a fan of writing, reading, music, and laughter. right now i'm co-writing my first ever screenplay (which started out as novel, but it evolved) with my friend honour, and am working on a dystopian novel, which is pretty exciting, and i also write poetry, lyrics, and essayish-type things.
i'm also a nerd — socially inept, pseudo-intellectual, lord of the rings fanatic, etc. — and i like being a nerd. so it's all good.

*i will be happy to read swap and comment on anyone's work. also, if you read my work, i'd really love it if you commented, even if it's something that has already been said. i like to know what people think. =)

~school and life are pretty crazy at the moment, so i might take a while to get back to you if you message me or leave a comment.

Poem

This is a poem about having to make painful choices.

I wrote this poem a while ago. I didn't write it about a specific situation, but have found that it applies to multiple situations, because at some point everyone realizes that they can't sit on the fence forever.

Conformity City

by AutumnGirl

Short Story: General Fiction

Conformity City was a black hole, swallowing lives and dreams. She feared she would never get out.

She's a senior attending Conformity High School, and she can't wait to get out. But Conformity City has a way of keeping people in - and Conformity won't let go of her so easily.

-This is actually one in a series of metaphorical short stories that I'm giving to my closest friends as Christmas presents, since I have no money to actually buy anything. It's not my usual style, but I'm hoping my friends (and you) will enjoy it.

Wanderlust

Poem

The siren song of the traveler is something not easily ignored.

I don't really know what to write here. I don't think poems really need a full pitch. I wrote this poem sitting in an empty bathtub at 2 in the morning, because the light from my bedroom somehow escapes into my sister's, and she can't sleep with the light on. Yay insomnia!

Silhoutte Girl

Poem

After all she's done, there is no place for her.

This poem is pretty much about being restless and homeless. It was inspired by a character for a story which I might actually get around to writing someday (the day hell freezes over?). I wrote it while procrastinating on doing math homework.

On Beauty Pageants

by AutumnGirl

Essay

What is real beauty?

Yay! I love soapbox-ing! (I have to write this stuff down because my friends get irritated if I subject them to my fiery opinions all the time). In any case, I become very frustrated by society's portrayal of beauty. So I wrote this.
