i'm kayla, and the earth has circled the sun 18 times since i was born, well it will have on august 20th at least. as many of you other hopefuls out there, i'm an aspiring author, who (believe it or not) is going to study english literature in college! wooo! sorry, i get excited about random things. few random facts about me: i love jesus, i hate onions, i love reading (especially historical fiction), and roses of cooraclare is my favorite inkpop novel, so you should give it a glance. oh yes! i've even made it easy for you, there is a link right on my page in the "picks" section. and after you've read that, you can come look at my little story bunnies as well, though many of them might be indefinitely halted, so don't get your hopes up.
oh yes, please do not ask me to read your work if you aren't going to bother with mine. i make a genuine effort to make sure i give good feedback to another author, i appreciate the consideration in return. thank you very much.
well, here's a bit of an update on my work, if you cared enough to read this far on my profile:
weeping willow (novel, name may be changed when i'm feeling a bit more creative)
*not yet posted.
**not yet long enough to post.
eileen was late leaving willow mcmillen's birthday party, and she paid a dear price for that.
willow discovered a disturbing secret from her husband's past, and she died for it.
upon discovering the journal of her great grandmother in the attic of her grandfather's house, strange things begin to happen to sixteen-year-old victoria stuart. a ghost keeps appearing, and she dreams constantly of being the victim of a brutal crime and drowning. it seems that whatever is recorded in that journal and locked away in that attic are trying their very best to bring about the death of victoria, who must discover what happened all those years ago before it is too late for her to save herself.
the evolution revolution:
it's about time inkpop had a revolution. i've got the flag, you've got the guns (guns show!) and we've all got the brains.
so, you want to know what we're fighting! corruption. yep, you guessed it. it's going to be bloody. we will lose great men in this battle.
i believe in honesty. i believe that i deserve to know the truth about my writings, even if that truth is ugly. and i believe that the truth is being repressed by people who are either too afraid to offend or who don't care enough to say it.
well, that's all going to change. i know i can't force you to do anything. i know i can't force you to write down those words "this is great, but". but i can change myself. i can evolve, and try to help inkpop become a better, more constructive community.
so here's my pledge. in all of my dealings with my fellow inkpoppers, i will do my best to be honest. this does not mean merciless slaughter of innocent poems and novels, this does not mean insta-picks for every short story that i read. this means that, what i read, i will comment on. what you do is up to you.
i promise to:
1. always read at least one chapter; thoroughly. no skimming, no once-overs. i will be an honest reader.
2. balance my comment with what i liked and didn't liked. i will give an honest review that is as helpful and supportive as it can be.
not so hard, right?
if you are not willing to do the same, i don't want your comment. if you can't be honest with me, then i'd rather not hear it.
copy and paste this into your profile, if you agree.
