i'm chelsea and i'm seventeen. pretty much, i like to write. i always have and i always will. it's in my dna i guess. i'm a senior in high school, and so glad to be out of there soon. so i'm mostly into writing novels, but right now i only have short stories up here because i like to write out of order and so don't have the first 10,000 words just yet. i have one i'm working on right now that i'm gonna be able to have up here soon, "the world above the worlds" which is actually supposed to be part of a trilogy, but for now i'm just putting the first book up, and it's a romance-scifi/fantasy-action type book, although i'm not sure if that describes it well enough. the short story "the world above the worlds" is an excerpt chapter from that. i also sometimes do short stories just for the heck of it, like "ten minutes" and that's basically something i did when i was having the exact same feelings as the main character, marly, although i changed a few things. it's be cool if you guys read my stuff and told me what you think. when i comment on other people's work, i'm really critical, and i'm sorry if i come across as harsh. but i feel like i can't really help people unless i am, and honestly, i'd much rather get feedback evaluating both the positives and negatives of my work instead of a vague and shallow "wow it's awesome", because that isn't going to help me grow as a writer. in addition to writing, i'm also a pastel artist, and i did both my profile picture and the cover of "the world above the worlds". if you want to check my work out, go to my art blog below (it's the first one listed). so anyway, i'm gonna keep writing, and if you've got anything you want to ask me, send me a message or whatever =).
oh yeah, and i gotta say this too. it's really annoying when people message me saying something like "add my story to your picks!" or "read my work so i can read yours!" seriously, it's getting old people. if you have something in particular you want an honest opinion on, let me know and i can do that, if you want me to read your work so bad that you have to basically bribe me, critique my stuff first, then we'll talk. but yeah, i was kinda disappointed because i thought this site was about displaying writing and helping others grow, not about bribing with swaps or begging to be a pick when honestly, you've got a long way to go to make it good quality. so yeah, want me to read your work and say what i think? sure. wanna critique mine? i'll most likely critique yours if it's something i'd read anyway. otherwise, do not solicit me. thank you and have a nice day =).
