about me

greetings, fellow inkpopper.

i am afraid i have been quite absent for the past month (maybe two...quite a long time, but still not enough for them to have fixed all the plague of the undercase, apparently). if i were funnier, i would make some excellent comment here about how constellations only appear at certain times of the year. instead, i'll just apologize. : ) i'm tentatively working on my 08 nano so hopefully you'll see that around here sometime soon. in the meantime, thank you so much for supporting taking eden to the extent that it's remained in the top 50 even when i haven't swapped for months. i love you guuyyys. >a<

now, i know i need to read for xonnicx3, star gazer, and bit more to alliebee, plus i owe huge huge giant thank yous to olivemay and m.e. quick, for surprise reviews. i have no idea how you guys found me, but i love you. <3 lemme know if you're waiting on me for a read.

i am a constellation in the lovely night sky.

...okay, that was a lie.
i am an aspiring human author (aren't we all) with a questionable sense of humor and an irreplacable love of everything fantastical. feel free to message me if you want me to read your stuff or just want to chat; i'm always looking for something new to read.

(also, my grammar is pretty damn near impeccable. just sayin'.)

by the way, that cute-enough-to-save-the-world-with-pure-adorableness puppy you see in my profile picture? his name is monty. : ) right now he is sleeping upside-down on the floor next to me. he is really weird, but i love him.

>>>the evolution revolution:

i believe in honesty. i believe that i deserve to know the truth about my writings, even if that truth is ugly. and i believe that the truth is being repressed by people who are either too afraid to offend or who don't care enough to say it.

so here's my pledge. in all of my dealings with my fellow inkpoppers, i will do my best to be honest. this does not mean merciless slaughter of innocent poems and novels, this does not mean insta-picks for every short story that i read. this means that, what i read, i will comment on. what you do is up to you.

i promise to:
1. always read at least one chapter; thoroughly. no skimming, no once-overs. i will be an honest reader.
2. balance my comment with what i liked and didn't liked. i will give an honest review that is as helpful and supportive as it can be.<<<

post this to your profile if you want honesty on inkpop. : )
thank you dain broadbent for this awesome pledge.

Poem

Most people's scars are pale pink or brown-- Darling's are gold.

What really cuts us is never a knife or a piece of glass. What really leaves scars-- well, that's you and me. The words we treasure, and the words we abandon, the people we mean to hold close who end up so far away, this precious and small planet, all gleam with scars.

God are we beautiful.

Taking Eden

by orion

Book: , Science Fiction/Fantasy, Adventure, Romance

Sometimes opposites attract. Sometimes they need a little ghostly help.

And if paradise gets destroyed in the process—well, who ever said love was easy?

What if an entire city was art? What if that art was so heartbreaking, so blindingly beautiful that to look on it day after day, to grow up immersed in it from birth changed people?

It happened to Emily. A "paradise baby" who was born in the City, she simply cannot get lost. Michael Salmon, on the other hand, cannot be anything but lost. Distrusted by the City for reasons unknown, he manages to lose his way no matter how many maps he arms himself with.

One day, they collide. And the City will never be the same.

[Editing for pacing issues. Full edits and next ch should be up sometime before the colonization of Pluto. Hopefully.]

Short Story: Science Fiction/Fantasy

This is the bit before I pay fifty cents to go crazy.

The human mind is ill-equipped to handle God, isn't it?
