Short poem that pretty much sums up my feelings about rap, haha.
I am a huge fan of rap parodies (I'm On A Boat, Show Me Your Genitals, etc.) and this poem popped into my head when I thought about the reality of a certain swear word...

When the man you hate proposes to you, what do you say?!
This is actually a school assignment way back in grade eleven that I got way into; I've edited this a few times since I submitted it for marks! Assignment: in the style (same meter and rhyme scheme) of Sir Walter Raleigh's "The Nymph's Reply to the Shepherd" (which is a response to Christopher Marlowe's "The Passionate Shepherd to His Love"), write Elizabeth Bennet's reply to Darcy's unexpected marriage proposal.

Very short poem (I think it's shorter than the title!) but I like 'em short... wait...
The title pretty much sums it up: sexual frustration!

Short Story: Romance, Humor
My interpretation of the romance genre. And I know it well (hey, I was 14).
WARNING: not suitable for those with delicate sensibilities. Must be the age of consent. Yeah, so I used to read this fat novels with titles like Stallion of the Night and Passion's Mistress (pretty much made those up on the spot). They were my prime source of knowledge of sexuality and passionate lovemaking. Anyway, my boyfriend made fun of my dark past, and then we got to thinking that I should write my own version. At first I was gonna make a serious attempt, but since it's me, I had to lighten it up. Don't enjoy!

You know you should hate him, not her.
This is a poem I wrote to convey my feelings about an event in my life similar to this one. It was pretty much the defining point of my high school life. There was Before and After this. I probably made a way bigger deal of it than it deserved, but it was crucial in shaping how I approached future crushes.

She makes me want to dance in public, but of course I don't. I'm not as fearless as her!
Have you ever found yourself strangely drawn to someone totally different from you? Wishing you could be like them in some ways (while still recognizing their flaws).Lady Gaga is my guilty pleasure, my shameful secret.

The everyday yet amusing things you happen to see...
Unlike most of my poetry, this is entirely fictional. I wrote it in grade 12 for a school poetry contest (I submitted two--the other one was Elizabeth's Reply to Darcy). My friend won.

Short Story: Paranormal, Romance
First attempt ever at a novel.
READ THIS: I have re-submitted this (the entire project, chapters one through eight) as a novel, so if you want to read the whole thing in one go, check out my profile to find it there. No need to comment on this one. And if you want it in your Picks, I suggest picking the novel version.

Short Story: General Fiction, Humor
The most frustrating thing in the world is when people misunderstand you.
Follow the wanderings of a young mind and what happens when the spoken word isn't suitable.I wrote this for my mom on Mother's Day a couple years ago.

I wrote this four years ago for my English 11 class. I think it could be considered a Jonathan Swift fanfic...
