i am a 17 year old aspiring writer. my biggest dream is to be a journalist at the village voice in new york, one of the best news papers on the planet. of course like any other writer i totally do the whole fiction thing and all the rest but for now that's where my passion lies...
so i kind of realised tht i needed to add more to this thing because i use other people's profiles as an ice breaker. i suppose that's a kind of important thing about me. i am not here to plug my work or get to the top. (yeah it's amazing to get picked and it would be such an honour if it happened to me and i love the people who pick my work though i still am so bowled over that they do) i joined inkpop to find other aspiring writers. i'm not slamming people who are always plugging their work or trading reads, i respect that it may be necessary or whatever but i just want to put it out there that it's not my style. when i'm talking to you, messaging you, hanging out here, it's all because i genuinely like the people here. i want to get to know people like me. if they like my work, that's a bonus.
oh, another important thing about me. i get passionate about two things (well really passionate) music and politics. i am crazy about music, i couldn't live without it because when you think about it, it's poetry but also connections between totally random people. going to live music shows and seeing all these people united, swaying to the same beat almost makes me believe in god. i have a theory that if we just had a 4minute world wide macarena, there would be peace. oh btw, i'm an atheist but i try not to be all in your face about it, tell me if i'm crossing the line.
one last thing, in case you haven't figured this out already. i have nearly chronic verbal dihorrea...kinda gross when i put it like that huh? oh well it's out there now. i just don't know when to shut up and stop like this, right here, this is me going on and on talking about nothing. okay i'm gonna stop.
at the moment i've got a series of essays about my love life because there is not greater inspiration than your own tradgedy. if you are following it, this is the order. let me tell you a story followed by there is no end. you did this to me is my latest one and i'm not going to say much about it except that it's about the boy who came before the one in let me tell you a story.
anyway just as a send off, i love inkpop, i love writing and reading and i love people. so all i am saying...is give peace a chance ;)
