about me

I live with my husband and two children on a small farm in Ohio. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I worked as a registered representative in insurance and finance. I have also "done time" as a school teacher. Indiana University is my alma mater.

I started my first novel around age 18 and it turned into a ridiculous 300,000 word monster. At the time I couldn't care less about being published, writing was simply fun. Even though being an author has been in the back of my mind ever since, it faded to the background as I pursued other interests. The writing bug resurfaced a few years ago and hasn't gone away. It's still fun, but also daunting, because this time around I'm serious about honing my craft and getting published.

I welcome swaps, but please read on.

2-27-2010 When I compare all of the comments/picks I have made to what I have gotten back, the ratio is about 2:1. This means for every hundred reads I have done, I've gotten back fifty in return. On an exam that would be fifty percent or a big fat F. So, after careful consideration, my new policy is "what you do unto me, I'll do unto you". If you leave a comment for me, I'll leave a comment for you. If you pick my project, I'll look for every reason to pick yours, but it must have at least one outstanding quality. You will get honest feedback from me, not vendettas or phony praise. If I haven't returned the favor within three days, then it's probably an oversight on my part so please message me. Happy reading, writing and editing.
