Poem
This is a poem about my daughter and our struggles to overcome substance abuse
Hopefully this will help other parents in some way. I've learned that we are immune to nothing. That sometimes our children make choices that leave deep scars/

I admirer your strength and beauty for writing such a heart felt poem. We may never understand everything, at least we can write about it and hope that someday things will become clearer.
Lovely poem.Good phrasing and expression of what you feel.
Your love knows no limits and it is clear in your poem. As a dear friend once reminded me (like your poem), even though you have to let go, the good memories are there to sustain you. Your poem is beautiful, as are you.

Wow...this flows beautifully...I like it. It's a really amazing poem!
This work is amazing and profoundly real...I hope the "little one" involved gets to read and experience it.
Wow!!! I'm speechless... AMAZING!!! Keep doing what you do!!! <3
I would like all my friends to add a comment to my poem...the more comments the higher the rank...thanks
I love your poem. I maybe young but I wish my parents could let go as hard as it is. Must be hard to see your kid go through that. I help all my friends that ask for it and I try to help them with everything, including what your daughter went through. Not everyone can see the damages but its a learning curve for even parents. You are a great mom that I can tell. Your poem speaks wonders about you.
titania, one doesn't have to be the parent of a child with substance abuse problems to appreciate this mom. You've expressed what's in my heart so beautifully and powerfully. My hopes, fears and guilt (parenthood is a lesson in guilt, no matter what the issue, don't you think?) are mirrored in your poem. Our sons and daughters can never know the LOVE we have for them, and the pain it causes, until they are parents themselves. My kids aren't teenagers . . . yet. And I enjoy the precious time with them when they're sweet, still wanting to hold my hand and have mommy play with them, because I know it's so fleeting. Oh my gosh, I'm wanting to cry thinking about it. I don't want to let them go! No, no, I can't . . . I won't! Damn, I will. I have to. It's going to be like having my heart ripped out . . . geez . . . how can you stand it? Sorry, I got a little emotional there. Great poem. One of the best I've seen. I hope you find a place for it to get published, and I think you can because this is a popular subject that will appeal to mothers (and father's) across a wide spectrum. Good luck.
Wow, I'm speachless.This is amazing
my sister and brother used to give my mother this same kind of reaction and would make her cry, it always used to make me so mad that they made my mom cry. Did they notice her tears? Did they care? I wish I could say they have since learned their lesson, but unfortunately...I however, learned from their mistakes and I haven't even wanted to touch drugs. Keep writing. :)
Titania--I must say that this touched me. I am a teenager that went through the drug/ rebel experience. This poem reminds me of the look my mother used to have in her eyes. Thank you. Athena
