For a lost Aunt

by kbj

Poem

This is a poem that I have written for my Aunt. I just wish I could have told her this before she died.

This poem is for my Aunt Jenifer. I love you and miss you, Auntie. And I really hope that somehow this gets to you.

Aw..while I was headed to your book I saw this and I lost my aunt unexpectedly back in February, so I wanted to check it out. :) It's really beautiful, and I love the emotion you put into it. Amazing job!

This was very good. Is it free-verse? I confess, I'm not a poet myself, so, I can't always pick things out. But, good job! It was very nice.

This was heartbreaking! You really pulled the emotion through. The flow was great as well.
I noticed:
You forgot to capitalize 'God' in one part.
And I would stay consistent with punctuation. Use it always, or not at all.

Great work! And I'm so sorry about your loss.

This was a very beautiful poem! I like how it is addressed to your aunt while reflecting your emotions. I also like how to developed through the poem, coming to realizations and conclusions about life. The question marks were also quite affective.

That being said, this poem needs a bit of work on grammar, and more specifically punctuation. Be very conscious where you put commas (whether for rhythm or separation). And add in some periods, otherwise this would technically read as one big sentence.

Also, "none the less" should be "none-the-less"

Thanks for such a great read! If you are every looking for any poetry to read to pass the time, I have a couple you can check out. :) This isn't a read request, but more of an 'if you're interested' ...thing.
